Crane operators work long hours in constrained workspaces requiring awkward postures, that leads to reduced working capacity, quality and safety. In order to increase efficiency, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade designed a cabin chair that is under a certain inclination and has leg support and allows work and rest in two positions. Proposed design enables the operator’s fatigue and stress reductions due to ergonomic adjustments, together with increasing the productivity of the crane, safety and security while decreasing production and insurance costs.
The Innovation Fund funding will enable getting the detailed, precise and accurate design with components integration and testing in a simulated environment.
